This group meets for breakfast on a Saturday morning 6 times a year to discuss issues concerning the environment, sustainability, fair-trade, justice...indeed the subjects covered are wide and diverse reflecting the interests and expertise of those participating. The group have organised a film night to show ‘An Inconvenient Truth’, a wine tasting evening to showcase Fairtrade wines and a Local Produce Market to coincide with Harvest and promote local food producers. Recycling boxes have been introduced at St John’s Church for batteries, ink cartridges and spectacles. St.John’s is registered as a
Fairtrade church and is a member of
Chaste.
The members have rapidly become aware that the topics we seek to understand have ‘layers’ which take one deeper and deeper as our understanding and information grow.
We have, therefore, decided that each member will take on responsibility for one of the topics and build up small lists of websites and/or articles and books that comprise useful information.
These lists can be viewed by clicking
here
